Tiger Moth Open Day!
Gathering for a Group Photograph
This is an invitation to come along and be part of our 2024 start of flying season group photograph in front of our three Tiger Moths. This will be on Henstridge South Side on the grass by the café and not in our hangar. Gather from 10:00 onwards, photos at 10:30ish.
A Free Formation Raffle
After the photographs two winning raffle ticket holders may have a formation flight. Adults must be under 16 stone (102Kgs) and tall enough to sit in the cockpit. A very lucky third winner will get a packet of quality dark chocolate biscuits! Unfortunately owing to the excess rainfall the grass runways are not yet operable and TMT cannot realistically fly the formation flight raffle winners on the day, but will when our ‘glorious’ summer weather arrives. We would still like to hold the group photograph with the great variety of Henstridge based aircraft from 10:30. Free teas and coffees for all attending.
Gipsy Moth G-ANNO
As well as friends visiting in their biplanes we would like to introduce Kevin’s latest rebuild of a 1930 Gipsy Moth. She is in the same stunning yellow and black scheme as the one flown by Robert Redford and Meryl Streep in ‘Out of Africa’. This aircraft type was the forerunner of the Tiger Moth and as well as having folding wings, has many differing technical features.
There is no need to call to confirm you are coming to our open day as we will see you as you arrive,

Tiger Moth Training - Aviation School
Tiger Moth Training is based at Henstridge Airfield (ex H.M.S Dipper) on the Somerset Dorset border and does exactly what its title implies.
It provides 3 restored, historic Tiger Moths, one 1930 Gipsy Moth and highly experienced instructors who are able to provide training for a wide spectrum of training needs such as tailwheel conversion, Tiger Moth conversion to basic aerobatics and formation flying.

Experience Flights
In addition we provide flying experiences for those who wish to enjoy the thrill of flying in these iconic aircraft. Formation flights can also be arranged for two friends.
Ashes Drops
We also have clearance to provide ashes drops from our Tiger Moths over the family's selected site.
